Maxi Dress Capsule Wardrobe

I decided to have a little fun with an old maxi dress I've had since high school! I figured I'd do my own spin off of a capsule wardrobe/how to wear a maxi dress 7 different ways! You can do so many different looks with a maxi dress, a cardigan, denim jacket/vest, gladiator sandals, and a white tee and a chambray shirt! That is only 6 items that you can mix and match however you want! I chose to go with a week's worth of different looks (even though no one in their right mind would wear the same maxi dress for a week straight; or would they?) You can literally try these looks with any maxi dress you own-the beauty of layering with denim or black and white is that they go with pretty much anything! You can shop this capsule wardrobe in the Shop My Style section on the right! I hope you enjoy these different looks!
Day 1: I took my maxi dress and wore a distressed denim vest over it! Very simple yet adorable for summer festivals or concerts!

Day 2: Take an oversized boyfriend tee and put it on over your maxi. Then, tie the side with an elastic and tuck it in and there you have a casual look AND you've transformed your dress into a skirt!

Day 3: Similar to day 2, take a chambray shirt and only button it about 1/3 of the way down, tying the bottom ends together into a knot. Tuck the knot into the shirt and here is a shabby-chic look to wear to work!

Day 4: This look is probably the most dressy out of them all. Throw a cardigan of your choice over your maxi to dress up the look in a very simple way.

Day 5: Simply wear your maxi as is! If yours is sleeveless or tube style like mine, feel free to put your tee back on normally, and then wear the maxi over the t shirt as you normally would. This creates a really cute layered affect and makes this particular look more work appropriate.

Day 6: Like day 2, put on your boyfriend tee and tie it on the side, only on this day, take your denim vest or jacket and layer it on top.

Day 7: Again, take your boyfriend tee and tie it on the side and then layer with your cardigan of choice to dress the outfit up. You can see how this is a totally different look compared to day 6!
